Established in the year 1998, the Department offers excellent research based learning facilities. Roundthe- clock internet access, computer facilities together with excellent software support are available to students in executing their projects. Its research based activities can be broadly categorized as under:

  • Product launch studies encompassing primary market research, analysis of collected data, SWOT analysis, identification of gaps or niches in the said market, product positioning, promotions and packaging of pharmaceutical products, etc.
  • Analysis of different therapeutic segments to arrive at the most widely prescribed and fast moving drugs through surveys.
  • Prescription analysis studies to determine the prescribing pattern for different brands of drugs.
  • Product formulations designed to meet the market requirements without compromising on the product quality.
  • Projects in the area of regulatory affairs with support from experts in the field.

The Department has organized several seminars. Collaborative associations have been initiated with leading pharmaceutical companies like:

Funding has been provided from various pharmaceutical companies and non-government organizations for projects handled by the Department. The Department has dedicated faculty coupled with expert guest faculty from leading management schools like Indian Institute of Management and various Pharmaceutical industries to impart in-depth theoretical knowledge and the required practical exposure to the students.
